On October 3, 2024, erroneous allegations were made online about Samson and its role in the Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program.

The individual who made these claims also made unannounced visits to our offices in Ottawa, Gatineau and Chelsea, and made false insinuations about our firm aimed at undermining its credibility. Other, also erroneous, figures about the value of government contracts received by Samson over the years were also circulated on social media in the following hours.

Samson wishes to refute these false allegations by pointing out the following:

• Samson has been in business for 30 years. Its 75+  highly qualified professionals annually provide services of the highest standard to dozens of trusted clients in both the public and private sectors.
   
•  Samson’s head office is located at 85 Victoria Street in Gatineau, Quebec, where we have over 5,000 sq feet of office space for our professionals to work in. Our team however has the possibility to work remotely so our offices are rarely full. Other sites are used in a limited fashion, for occasional consultant work and correspondence, when needed.
   
• Samson did not receive $9M for its role in the Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program. As the document to the side clearly shows, Samson’s role with respect to the program was limited to audit services as part of a “Nimble Assurance engagement” for which it received $976K. The remainder of the $9M was for services that were not contracted with Samson. Our audit services were retained following a public call for tender in August 2022.
   
• The amounts that were circulated by citing open-source data available through the federal government only represent the POTENTIAL maximum value (contract limitation), spread over several years, of the contracts awarded to Samson, not the ACTUAL amounts received by Samson, which were significantly lower.
